Michael Jacksons’s ‘This Is It’ will offer moviegoers and music lovers worldwide a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the performer as he developed, created, and rehearsed for his sold-out concerts that would have taken place beginning this summer in London’s 02 Arena. Chronicling the months from April through June, 2009, the film is produced with the full support of the Estate of Michael Jackson and and drawn from more than one hundred hours of behind-the-scene footage, featuring Jackson rehearsing a number of his songs for the show.

Tony Jakubiak (Benny Ciaramello) is careening through life as a black sheep under-achiever. He is the polar opposite of his older brother Frank (Scott Kinworthy), a D.A. with a beautiful and ambitious wife (Erica Shaffer), who is on his way to becoming the youngest Governor in history. One night and with one wrong turn, Tony is arrested for the brutal murder of a priest. A murder he didn’t commit. Big brother Frank wants to come to his rescue, but Tony won’t reveal his alibi for where he was at the time of the murder. As the trial gets closer, and a lifetime in prison becomes a possibility, Frank is shocked when he discovers where Tony was, and with whom. Frank now has the alibi and evidence to set his brother free. But this revealing and tawdry evidence threatens to end Frank’s career and dredge up a very incriminating incident in their past. Will Frank risk everything to speak out and save his brother? Or will he let Tony take the fall?

Hannah Maynard, prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague, is leading a trial against a former commander of the Yugoslavian National Army who is accused of the deportation and later killing of dozens of Bosnian-Muslim civilians. When a key witness commits suicide, it looks like the case will unravel, however Hannah refuses to give in. Hoping to uncover new findings, she travels to the witness’ burial in Sarajevo and meets his sister Mira who she senses has much more to say than she is willing to admit. Despite threats of violence, Mira reluctantly agrees to testify at The Hague. However, she and Hannah must both risk life and limb to make it to the court, only to discover that there are traitors among their own ranks.
The House of the Devil R FLAT
From writer-director Ti West comes THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, a satanic thriller set in the 1980s starring Jocelin Donahue (JT Petty’s forthcoming THE BURROWERS), indie ingenue Greta Gerwig (HANNAH TAKES THE STAIRS, BAGHEAD), Tom Noonan (SNOW ANGELS, MANHUNTER), Mary Woronov (EATING RAOUL, THE DEVIL’S REJECTS), AJ Bowen (THE SIGNAL) and Dee Wallace (E.T., Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN). Sam (Donahue) is a pretty college sophomore, so desperate to earn some cash for a deposit on an apartment that she accepts a babysitting job even after she finds out there is no baby. Mr. and Mrs. Ulman (cult actors Noonan and Woronov) are the older couple who lure Sam out to their creeky Victorian mansion deep in the woods, just in time for a total lunar eclipse. Megan (Gerwig) is Sam’s best friend, who gives her a ride out to the house, and reluctantly leaves her there despite suspecting that something is amiss. Victor (Bowen) at first seems like just a creepy guy lurking around the house, but quickly makes it clear that Sam will end this night in a bloody fight for her life….
21 and a Wakeup R 123 minutes FLAT
A dozen true stories of Vietnam are woven together over a 96 hour period surrounding the 24th Evac Hospital, the last major US Army hospital caring for our valiant soldiers as America was abandoning the war in Southeast Asia. It is the first American motion picture about the war ever allowed by the government to film on location in Vietnam. Written and Directed by Vietnam Veteran Chris McIntyre, who served with the US Marines from 1967 through 1971, the film follows 96 hours in the life of nurse Caitlin Murphy (Amy Acker) who has just 21 days left in Vietnam when she embarks on a terrifying mission to save a three old-girl’s life in nearby Cambodia. Along with best friends Jenny Valentine (Danica McKellar), rookie Skyler Paige (Kristyn Green), and USO singer Xenia Salinas (T Lopez), Murphy’s gives a solemn oath to Dr. Tom Drury (JC Chasez) to rescue the young girl before she is killed in a US bombing raid. Clashing constantly with her superior Faye Dunaway, Murphy must use her friendship with General Jim Gleason (Wes Studi), General Garner (Ben Vereen),Col David Ritchie ( Ed Begley, Jr), and Dr Jim West (Andre Royo) to coerce CIA station chief Jack Breedlau (Tom Sizemore) into helping her. As she and her lover, journalist Chris Cameron (Todd Cahoon) undertake the perilous journey up the Mekong River with the help of Australian special forces operative Mark Harrington (Mark Warner), she encounters vicious Cambodian border guards; a cruel Khmer Rouge patrol, and ultimately the resistance of US forces themselves. ‘21 and a Wakeup’ has been called ‘The best portrayal of women at war ever put on film.’

Final Destination 3D R 81 minutes
On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O’Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave escaping seconds before Nick’s frightening vision becomes a terrible reality. Thinking they’ve cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one in increasingly gruesome ways Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination. The film marks the latest in the highly popular ‘Final Destination’ series, and its first 3D installment, giving horror fans an especially visceral thrill ride.

Taking Woodstock is the new film from Academy Award-winning director Ang Lee and it’s a trip! Based on the memoirs of Elliot Tiber, the comedy stars Demetri Martin as Elliot, who inadvertently played a role in making 1969’s Woodstock Music and Arts Festival into the famed happening it was. Featuring a standout ensemble cast, and songs from a score of ’60s musical icons including The Grateful Dead, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, and Country Joe and the Fish plus a new recording of ‘Freedom’ from Richie Havens Taking Woodstock is a joyous voyage to a moment in time when everything seemed possible. Working as an interior designer in Greenwich Village, Elliot feels empowered by the gay rights movement. But he is also still staked to the family business a dumpy Catskills motel called the El Monaco that is being run into the ground by his overbearing parents, Jake and Sonia Teichberg (Henry Goodman and Imelda Staunton). In the summer of 1969, Elliot has to move back upstate to the El Monaco in order to help save the motel from being taken over by the bank. Upon hearing that a planned music and arts festival has lost its permit from the neighboring town of Wallkill, NY, Elliot calls producer Michael Lang (Jonathan Groff) at Woodstock Ventures to offer his family’s motel to the promoters and generate some much-needed business. Elliot also introduces Lang to his neighbor Max Yasgur (Eugene Levy), who operates a 600-acre dairy farm down the road. Soon the Woodstock staff is moving into the El Monaco and half a million people are on their way to Yasgur’s farm for ‘3 days of Peace & Music in White Lake.’ With a little help from his friends, including theater troupe leader Devon (Dan Fogler), recently returned Vietnam veteran Billy (Emile Hirsch), and cross-dressing ex-Marine Vilma (Liev Schreiber) and with a little opposition from townspeople, including Billy’s brother Dan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) Elliot finds himself swept up in a generation-defining experience that would change his life and popular culture forever.

Along the way he befriends an ex-prizefighter, a street-smart librarian, a renegade street-whore, an omniscient cab driver, and a moody pimp who quotes Robert Frost. Together this ad-hoc congregation sets out to save a lifeand possibly redeem their own. Fr. John is hit, hit-on, held at knife point, treated to a peep show, and informed by the archdiocese in no uncertain terms that his career is in jeopardy if he doesn’t cease and desist. Then his first love turns up after 20 years, as beautiful as ever, to tell him she is divorced and that she never stopped loving him. He was her first. She was his only. Shockingly, John’s mother encourages the reunion. When John emerges from his descent into the world of pornography and prostitution to stand again before his congregation, he is a profoundly changed man, as are the members of his church who now hang on his every word.

In this heartwarming comedy, minor leaguer Carlton Garret (Justin Timberlake) takes an unexpected road trip to track down his estranged father, legendary baseball player Kyle Garret (Jeff Bridges) when Carlton’s mother (Mary Steenburgen) becomes sick. Knowing his charming yet painfully immature dad’s likelihood to disappoint, Carlton enlists his on-again-off-again girlfriend Lucy (Kate Mara) for emotional support. Once reunited, Carlton struggles to deal with the series of misadventures caused by his father’s antics, including missed flights, car trouble and bathroom brawls. Years of miscommunication, frustration and comically awkward attempts at bonding come to a head as the mismatched trio make their way from Ohio back home to Houston to reunite the family.
