Jennifer Hudson is set to play Winnie Mandela in Winnie.  Winnie is a film about Nelson Mandela’s and his wife Winnie who was found guilty of fraud and theft of money in 2003.

Tom Hooper’s the King’s Speech, tale of a British Monarch with a speech impediment, has been cast with Helena Bonham-Carter, Jennifer Ehle, Michael Gambon, Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush.  Firth is cast as George VI, Geoffrey Rush as the speech therapist.

Harvey Keitel has joined the cast of Meet the Parents, Little Fockers. Keitel joins fellow newcomers Jessica Alba and Laura Dern.

Winona Ryder has joined the cast of Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan.  Natalie Portmand, Barbara Hershey, Vincent Cassel are also set to star.  Black Swan is about NYC ballerinas with a supernatural theme.

Sony Pictures has acquired the film rights to the popular Hasbro game Risk.   The film will be produced and developed by Hasbro and Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment.

Rob Hardy is set to work on Stomp The Yard 2: Homecoming.  Columbus Short is in negotiations to reprise his role as DJ. 

Ron Howard is set to direct The Parsifal Mosaic a Robert Ludlum book.  The book is about a man who sees his spy-lover executed for being a double agent.  The story unravels when the man sees the woman is not dead after all.

Steven Spielberg has committed to direct Harvey. Harvey is based on the Mary Chase Pulitizer winning play.  Harvey originally came to the big screen in 1950 with James Stewart and Josephine Hull.

According to Variety Twentieth Century Fox is resuscitating its "Alien" franchise. Ridley Scott is slated to direct.  The prequel will take place prior to the 1979 hit Alien.   Click here for full article.
